Itinerary

Day 1: Foum Zguid

Arrive in Foum Zguid, where you will be welcomed with a traditional mint tea at your hotel.

Later, your guide will take you to discover Kasbah Oum Hench, a historic kasbah dating back around five centuries.

Spend the evening in Foum Zguid before beginning your desert trekking adventure the following day.

Day 2: Foum Zguid – Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi

Depart from Foum Zguid by 4x4 for approximately 2 hours across the desert tracks towards the oasis of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi.

Discover the ancient ksar and the tomb of the local marabout before walking for around 10 minutes to the nearby guesthouse.

Enjoy a traditional lunch and relax with tea under the shade of the acacia trees.

In the evening, gather around the campfire for a hearty dinner before spending the night in a charming guesthouse featuring traditional architecture.

Day 3: Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi – Nomadic School

After breakfast, begin your trek alongside the camel caravan towards the nomadic school.

The walk takes approximately 3 hours through the desert. Meet the children at the school and discover more about education and daily life in the desert.

After lunch, set up your bivouac near the nomadic community.

Enjoy dinner and spend the night under the stars, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara.

Day 4: Nomadic School – Erg Chegaga

In the morning, continue your journey with the camel caravan towards the spectacular Erg Chegaga dunes.

Walk for approximately 6 hours through the sand, crossing the vast desert landscapes. Stop along the way for lunch in the shade of tamarisk trees.

Upon reaching Erg Chegaga, set up the bivouac and take time to learn more about nomadic life from your guide over a traditional tea.

In the evening, admire the sunset over the great dunes before enjoying dinner beneath the star-filled sky.

Day 5: Erg Chegaga – Oued Laatache

Continue your trek towards Oued Laatache, known as the “River of Thirst.”

Walk approximately 5 hours / 16 km through the desert, with a lunch break in the shade of the acacia trees.

Upon arrival, the bivouac will be set up near a well used by nomadic communities for water.

Enjoy dinner under the stars in a warm and friendly atmosphere before spending the night in the desert.

Day 6: Oued Laatache – Oued Naame

After breakfast, continue towards Oued Naame, known as the “River of Ostriches.”

The day's trek covers approximately 5 hours / 17 km, with a lunch break along the way.

Upon arrival, settle into the bivouac and take time to rest and enjoy the absolute silence of the desert.

Spend another peaceful night beneath the vast desert sky.

Day 7: Oued Naame – M’Hamid El Ghizlane

Start the final day of your Grand Desert Trek with the camel caravan and cross the last dunes towards M’Hamid El Ghizlane.

Enjoy lunch along the way before reaching M’Hamid and completing this unforgettable 7-day Sahara trekking adventure.
