Day Trip to Erg Chegaga from Foum Zguid

Your adventure begins in the morning with departure from Foum Zguid by 4x4 towards Iriki National Park.

Follow the rocky desert tracks and enjoy the vast open landscapes before reaching the village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi. Stop at the traditional Iriki Desert Tours guesthouse for lunch and relax in the shade while enjoying the peaceful scenery.

In the early afternoon, continue towards Erg Chegaga. Travel along sandy tracks surrounded by tamarisk trees before the spectacular dunes appear on the horizon.

Upon arrival at the bivouac, enjoy a welcome tea before beginning a walk through the dunes towards a panoramic viewpoint. From the top of the dune, admire the incredible sea of sand stretching across the Sahara.

Alternatively, you can choose an optional approximately 1-hour camel ride through the dunes.

Later, return to the 4x4 and begin the journey back towards Foum Zguid, crossing the immense plains of the dry Lake Iriki. Several photo stops along the way will allow you to capture the unforgettable landscapes of the Moroccan desert before arriving back in Foum Zguid.
